• We will provide a free no-obligation quote.
• We will advise you about the likelihood of finding the location which is of interest to you and if necessary we will suggest sources of information you can access to ingather further details necessary to increase the chances of finding your location.
• Much of Scotland is unspoilt and many areas remain unchanged by time and modern life. However please note that occasionally due to modern buildings in town locations it may not be possible to guarantee suitable photographs relevant to your family history. If this happens we will extend the scope of our photography to include neighbouring locations as close to your area of interest as possible to give you an impression of the general area your ancestors would have known.
• We will carry out the work as soon as reasonably practicable given weather conditions and distance from Edinburgh. However to ensure optimal results it may be necessary to delay carrying out the work if weather is unsuitable.
• Nikon cameras and Kodak film will be used.
• We will provide a written account of the site visit, captions for the photographs, a CD of the photographs and a detailed map showing routes travelled and locations of sites photographed.
• We will keep your details confidential and will not pass these on to anyone.
• We will provide you with information on the progress of the assignment as it takes place.
• We will post your photographs to you using a secure and swift service such as Royal Mail International Signed For which requires signature on delivery.
• Please note: if the local council believes a gravestone to be unstable it may be laid flat on the grave to comply with Health & Safety regulations in the UK. If this has happened to your ancestor’s gravestone we will take a selection of photographs of the graveyard showing the gravestone in context and giving an impression of the graveyard generally.
